We discussed the nature/nurture issue on multiple levels.
Such as: how much of one characteristic, behavior, emotion, etc. can be explained by environment and how much can be explained by genetics. We also looked at the emphasis that the various theoretical giants placed on the two factors. Have explored the idea of epigenetics- the concept that phenotypes may differ significantly from genotypes due to environmental factors that affect, or play off of, genetics. This builds on the idea that both nature and nurture are vital to each individual's development and that they have a bidirectional relationship.
With all this in mind, I need to pick one human characteristic, trait, emotion, or behavior and evaluate how nature and nurture might interact to influence this characteristic. How might heredity play a part? What kind of learning or environmental differences might change the course of this characteristic? If a person had to choose, do you think nature or nurture plays a stronger part in forming this characteristic?
I need to write at least a paragraph to answer this question which will be used as a discussion post.
