Compare (and contrast) Hermione with her daughter Perdita as hostesses (I, ii and IV, iv). You will find it interesting to learn that these two roles were thought so comparable that they were actually played by the same actress in some nineteenth-century productions. (The two characters are on stage together only in the last scene, and there Perdita has no lines; they dressed up a look-alike as Perdita for that scene.)
