Will president biden be over stretching his power

Assignment task: Respond to the essay below.

The fear of one person holding too much power has also been around in the United States. ABC News has uploaded an article in February discussing will President Biden be over stretching his power to help him get ahead in elections. This article explores all the politicians' moves as the election is coming up. Many states do have laws and policies to make it harder for the people to vote, such as literacy tests and poll taxes. But Biden did issue an executive order to expand voters' Registration access. And many believe that if he were to further push this issue, there will be more criticism of overstepping his power. An historical Art Rice University believes that "if he tries something extraordinary, it will be tied up in the courts for years." The article also talked about how former President Obama flexed his authority in past actions. Few court cases surrounding voting limits in some states.

Presidents should be justified to use their formal and informal powers to meet the needs of the role of the office, as long as the power is used for the benefits of the public. One of the results of the separation of powers and checks and balances is that it is hard for any branch to pass anything if there are disagreements amongst the branches. And oftentimes Presidents are accused and criticized of overstepping their powers. For example, in the article President Biden and Obama were both accused of this. But I believe that their actions should be justified, for instance that President Biden is pushing for access to voters, allowing more people to vote more easily. Although some believe that he did this to his own benefit to win the election, it is still for the benefit of the public's voting right. Therefore for the right cause, this overstepping of power should be justified. The Federalist No. 70, also supports this justification. It argues for and supports a strong executive leader, and Hamilton believes that "energy in the executive is the leading character in the definition of good government." Therefore if the executive leader does not have enough power to act upon something which is beneficial for the citizens, they use their formal as well informal powers to meet the need to act and to do his job, it should be justified.
