Discussion Post: "Introduction," New Media in the Late 20th-Century Art, Michael Rush
For each reading (3 total in the course) you will be responsible for responding to questions posed by the instructor. Pick two questions out of the three listed. Each question response should be approximately one paragraph. Reading responses are due by the in-class discussion. These responses will help guide our in-class conversations on the readings.
• How does time-based art in the 20th-Century question the long tradition of painting as the privileged medium of representation?
• Why was Marcel Duchamp's approach to art so groundbreaking?
• How were/are artists experimentally approaching art? Give an example from the reading.
