Problem:
From the documentary we learn that the state of Texas has had a law since 1974 that prevented "the promotion of an obscene device." Briefly speculate and give one explanation as to why Texas had such a law on the books. For example, is the law an expression of values that the government wanted to promote? Is the law necessary for some kind of protection of its citizens? Do certain groups benefit from this law being on the books? (You do not have to agree with this explanation. But try to imagine from a law maker or politician's point of view how they might justify this law.)
