I wrote a professional resume, now i need to make a cover letter which I will attach my resume link below.
My cover letter needs to be compatible with my resume and should be used to highlight key information from my resume rather than simply repeat it. Similar to your professional resume content, my cover letter should also be reader-centred. This will allow the person reading your cover letter to see that it was written only for them and tailored to their specific position.
Cover letters should answer the question "Why should the employer hire you?" To answer this effectively, you must understand their 2-3 most important needs as well as their culture and values. In addition, your cover letter is an indication of the level of research you've done into the job and the employer, your enthusiasm for the job, and a sample of your written communication skills.
When writing your cover letter, i need to give thought to your writer's voice. A writer's voice is the manner in which the writer expresses themselves through their word choices and writing style. For example, a writer's voice may be described as "long-winded" (i.e., unnecessarily detailed and long, often tiresome or boring), "flowery" (i.e., very elaborate, descriptive, and poetic), or "straight to the point" (i.e., clear and concise). Your writer's voice helps an employer to build a profile of you in their mind.
Here are some thoughts and questions an employer may be considering as they read your cover letter:
- Is this person a clear and concise communicator?
- Does this person seem authentic and sincere?
- Can this person logically present information in a written form?
- Can this person produce high-quality, professional work without spelling or grammar mistakes?
- Does this person seem genuinely interested in this job?
- If this person joined my team, would they fit in?
