Productivity is one of the most critical measures in an operations organization. It provides management a standard to compare their organization's productivity, relative to their competitors and gives them a competitive advantage in the marketplace. With a higher productivity, they can be competitive with prices to gain market share or adjust those prices for greater profit margins.
For this discussion, explain why service jobs have lower productivity than manufacturing jobs. Provide examples to support your explanation.
