Problem: Feedback on this..Research ethics are important because they should protect participants' privacy, dignity and rights. In the first scenario I believe this study is not an ethical invasion of privacy. Students in their dorm rooms should absolutely have some type of privacy with their conversations in their rooms. The researchers secretly listened without consent, which violates their privacy rights, even though the information was useful. I personally would consider this study an unethical invasion of privacy. On the second scenario, even though the public bathroom is public, the people in this study should have been asked due maybe feeling embarrassed of a high level of privacy needed sometimes. I would consider this study an unethical invasion of privacy due to the fact that the researcher didn't receive consent. On the third scenario, this one was a little less invasive than the others due to being in public which some people expect to be seen by others. There is still some deception since participants are unaware; they are part of a study. Yes, it was a staged event, but maybe if the researchers didn't put the public in danger and debriefed the participants the study may be ethically acceptable. Need Assignment Help?
