As you are now familiar, the research model consists of 8 common steps: selecting a topic, defining the problem, reviewing literature, formulating a hypothesis, choosing a research method, collecting data, analyzing results, and sharing results. These steps are followed during a research project in hopes of understanding phenomena, contributing to existing research, and prompting further research
You will work on choosing a correct research method and explaining why one research method is best suited for the research as opposed to another method.
Work with the following information:
Hypothesis: Students who participate during lectures more likely to pass their college courses than are students who isolate themselves in class.
You must first identify the independent and dependent variable(s). Next, tell me what type of literature you would conduct and why you would need to conduct a literature review. Then you should choose the best research method to collect data for your hypothesis; you should explain why the method you choose will work for this particular hypothesis in addition to explaining the methods that will not work and why they would not work. Finally, explain who you would share the results with and why (hint, you would not share them with students as students are not likely to read research on their own time).
