Why krashen considered comprehensible input necessary

Question: While Krashen considered comprehensible input necessary and sufficient for L2 acquisition, Hatch (1978) suggested that in SLA, one should learn how to do conversation and interact verbally first, and out of this interaction will emerge grammatical structures. As discussed in class, a number of other theorists also assigned interaction a central role in L2 acquisition. At the same time, some (e.g. Saville-Troike, 2017) claim that interaction is not absolutely necessary for SLA, and acquisition is possible without interaction. Which of these views do you agree with and why?
