Why is there an even greater risk of harm or civil liability

Discussion Post

Statement I: The short answer is no, there should not be limits placed on the types of weapons officers use against a child. The reasoning? There are in fact no limits to the type of weapons that a child may use on officers, therefore there should not be any limits placed on an officer's ability to respond.

Statement II: Is there an even greater risk of harm or civil liability related to a police officer physically subduing a child with their hands? This question is very subjective, as utilizing any physical force can result in civil liabilities and bring harm to a child or an adult. I do not believe that the risk will be any greater. Subduing anyone means that you have to use non-lethal compliance techniques in the use of force continuum.

The response must include a reference list. Using one-inch margins, double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
