Q1. Why is resource dependency a national security problem? Using petroleum as an example, define what problem that dependency creates for the U.S., what the consequences of the dependency are, and what can be done about the problem.
Q2. Compare and contrast clandestine operations with covert operations. Also, explain how and why Russia conducted a covert operation prior to the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. *For the second part of the question you can refer to the PBS Frontline documentary series "Putin's Revenge" from class, and the election assessment produced by CIA, FBI, and NSA (file attached).
Q3. What are the most basic elements of intelligence writing and briefing? Why do intelligence professionals write in accordance with the principles you discuss?
Q4. Should border threats or environmental threats be incorporated into the national security agenda? How are these threats different from traditional national security problems?
