You probably want to read the textbook (pages 559-581 - Chapter 24) for background. You will need to discuss your results in a critical way that illustrates scientific logic and illustrate the role biofilms play in aquatic environments relative to plastic pollution. Things to consider: what is the main issue with plastic pollutants relative to inert substances like glass? Does the review paper offer any explanations for your results, including causes or mechanisms for what you observed? Why is plastic pollution a concern in aquatic environments? Remember to cite the article and textbook where appropriate. Overall, you should use information from the paper and the textbook to support your interpretation of your results (maximum of 400 words). Note that it is not necessary to deeply understand the entire paper to do the assignment but to have a working knowledge of the issues and findings.
