Why is it that newton mechanics are taught in schools

Problem: Most students have only heard of special and general relativity and don't actually know what those theories postulate. For the vast majority, there is a far greater understanding about Newton's laws of motion and gravity than there is about relativity.

Q1. Why is it that Newton's mechanics are taught in schools but, for the most part, relativity is not?

Q2. Is relativity relevant to your life in any way?

Q3. The effects of relativity are only noticeable at speeds close to the speed of light and in very high gravitational fields. Do the effects of relativity play any role in our day-to-day existence?
