What have been the different approaches to human sexuality in the visual arts? Provide examples, as the chapter has lots of images to choose from, representing how cultures around the world in both ancient and contemporary times have done so and why. Some cultures are far more expressive and tender, while others are more technical (primarily a means to an end--reproduction), and yet others live in a strange duality of prudishness and outrageous sexual fantasy. How do you think art should address this topic? Why is it so taboo in American culture? What is a primordial couple? Compare and contrast two examples of primordial couples, and share a personal take on where you might be in your thinking about the idea of primordial couples, and why.
