Why is federalism important to United States Criminal Justice System? What is the importance of having federal and state law enforcement, the courts, and corrections?
2. The goals of the Criminal Justice System focus on the investigation and punishment of people who commit crimes as well as efforts to protect the public through prevention. Comparing the two competing models of the administration of the Criminal Justice System, which model do you feel more accurately addresses the goals of the Criminal Justice System? Why?
If you were on the jury for the Casey Anthony murder trial, what aspects of the crime control and due process models would you have seen evident throughout the trial? How would the use of a plea bargain have affected the outcome of this case?
