• Politics can be divisive. Do you think that discussions about politics would be better or easier if we focused on ideas and outcomes rather than specific politicians and personalities? Why does the discussion of politics create so much friction? As you know, emotion and high tension in politics is nothing new and can be traced all the way through human history; accordingly, our present day situation is not much different than, say, the divisiveness of Andrew Jackson's or FDR's presidential administrations.

• Do you think that political science is a natural evolution of political philosophy as we try to understand the dynamics of various political systems?
