I have a 25-year-old daughter, a 27-year-old son, and 4 grandchildren (2 girls, 2 boys). Yes, I am too young for grandchildren. I enjoy relaxing and binge-watching true crime documentaries. When I am not enjoying me time, I am on grandma duty. What is your background in nursing and current nursing practice role? I have been a nurse for 9 short years. I am currently working in ambulatory surgery, where we see patients coming in for minor carpal tunnel surgery to organ transplants. My primary role is working alongside a team of anesthesiologists and interns/residents, offering preoperative pain blocks to assist with postoperative pain management. One of my biggest regrets is stepping away from bedside nursing as I believe this would have expanded my nursing knowledge (I would have seen more/done more). What are your future professional goals? Currently, my future goals would be to successfully complete this program and find a NP residency program to assist in this new role. Why do you want to become a Nurse Practitioner?
