For homework please read the article on Ethical Issues and then read the article "Controversial Psychological Research Methods and Their Influence on the Development of Formal Ethical Guidelines" ( both can be found in Doc Sharing)
Then in at least 250+ words address the following questions thoroughly and copy your answer into the box or upload a word document (due by 8 am on week 2, also bring a hard copy to class for participation points):
1. In general what makes a study unethical and why (IN YOUR OWN WORDS)? Give examples from both articles.
2. Why do you think deception is used in research (IN YOUR OWN WORDS)? At what point do the cons of deception outweigh the pros?
3. How would you change Milgram's, Humphrey's and Zimbardo's study to make it more ethical? Please be thorough in your reply (All 3 are considered unethical, why?).
