1) Pick an event in American history that you find interesting and important. It can be any event or situation, from any time in history. Your essay will need to include: what is the event? Why and how is it important? Why did you pick this specific event? Can we see any specific consequences of this event in today's society?
2) Pick an especially American phenomenon. Your essay will need to include: what is the phenomenon? What is unique about it? Why should we care? Why did you pick this specific idea/object/stereotype?
3) Pick an American personality that you are fascinated by. Your essay will need to include: who are we talking about? What is so unique about this person? Why should we know about him or her? Why did you pick this specific person?
4) Pick an American invention that interests you. Your essay will need to include: what is the invention? What is its purpose? Why and how is it important, and why should we know about it? Why did you pick this specific invention? Why should we care about it?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
