Do you think it was impossible to prevent other nations from acquiring and developing the atomic bomb? Suppose, you were a Soviet official serving during the early days of the United Nations. A US official proposes a prohibition of developing nuclear weapons. Would that appear hypocritical from the US? In short, did the bomb provided short-term relief (the war ended), but produced long-term fears?
