Arrogant perception is a failure of love. It may happen between members of dominant and subordinate groups and among members of subordinate groups. Lugones unpacks two kinds of failures of love: (i) between women from dominant groups and women from Latina and Afro-Latina groups (or, more generally, women of color), and (ii) among marginalized women of color.
