Despite elimination of measles in the United States, outbreaks associated with imported measles continue to occur. There have been several cases reported, the initiation of a measles outbreak seems to be associated with an imported case occurring in our country. Discuss quarantine and isolation to control measles in a population with low vaccine coverage. Your response must include the following information:
• Is there treatment for measles?
• How is measles spread and passed to others?
• Are quarantine and isolation effective control measures when immunization isn't an option? If so, why? If not, why aren't these effective control measures?
