Problem
Many of the ethics violations described occurred in research conducted on vulnerable or marginalized populations, including African Americans, children, pregnant women, disabled individuals, cancer patients, incarcerated people, and prisoners of war. Why are minorities often the victims of unethical research throughout history? Why is it so important to have measures in place to protect these groups?
