Can you help me describe the endosymbiotic hypothesis and the evidencein favor of it. Can you think of another way, besides endosymbiosis, to explain these observations? I know endosymbiotic hypothesis says that a prokaryotic cell was consumed by a larger cell, but I don't understand the evidence to support that.
Why are bacteria and archaea placed in different domains, while diverse types of eukaryotes are placed into different kingdoms?
