Problem
The Government of Jamaica is pursuing the Global Logistics Hub Initiative. You have been requested by the Government to advise on whether the country should become a party to the Hague Visby Rules, Hamburg Rules or Rotterdam Rules. In giving your advice please provide the following:
a) Brief outline of a logistics hub (citing jurisdictions which have successful hubs) and explain why adopting Rules governing bills of lading would be appropriate.
b) Brief on the main provisions of each of the treaties
c) Explanation of why the treaty you have selected is beneficial to Jamaica.
d) Recommend the local legislation which would enable the implementation of the treaty
