Discussion Post: History of Music
• Social Movements were propelled forward by music. Pick two music genre's that you believe pushed these social movements forward and explain how each movement impacted: Music, culture and politics.
• By the 1970's the music business had become more than a billion dollar a year industry and with that the major record companies operated with the kinds of profits in mind.
Explain how the record companies began operating during this time making sure to include the following:
• Who were these record companies seeking to sign to their labels?
