Discussion Post: Evidence, Policies, and Procedures
Nursing practice should be evidenced-based and the process of updating policies and procedures varies by facility. Feel free to discuss what you know about your current or previous places of employment.
Answer the following questions. Your post should look like:
a) Do you know how policies and procedures are evaluated for quality in your current practice (or previous if not currently employed)? If you do know, explain the evaluation process. If you do not know, explain why it would be important to know and who you could contact to learn more.
b) In your opinion, how often should policies and procedures be revised or reviewed? Justify your answer.
c) In your opinion, who should be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures? Things to address: Committee or individual? Full time or part time position? Compensation?
The response must include a reference list. Using one-inch margins, double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
