Take a look through your handbag, purse or wallet, at the tags on your clothing, at your cell phone, or any other personal item you use on a regular basis. Then try to identify where thatone object was produced, or manufactured. Then do some research about this object and the place where it was produced and write your discoveries down to share on a forum.
o Post the name of your object.
o What do you know about each of the countries/regions where the object was made, particularly about the economy and how it is set up?(Be brief but thorough)
o Where does it fit in with Wallerstein's World Systems Analysis scheme-core, periphery, semi-periphery?
o For those items not made in the United States, why do you think these objects were made overseas?
o Who profits from these objects being made in another country but sold here?
o Who suffers or is exploited? Women? Children?
o Personal thoughts about your revelations and the object you are using.
o Should be done in a couple of paragraphs.
