The theme of dreaming is significant in Bell's novel, and Lucie spends lots of time dreaming while living with Lizzie and Jerry. Some of her dreams are daydreams, and some are the kind that come at night.
What does Lucie dream of, and what meaning do you believe her dreams have? Is it possible that Lucie's dreams might be a way of processing her past negative experiences, and working toward healing?
