Question 2: Are there Public/Private Sector Partnerships identified in the development of tourism in these countries? How do they work? What are the advantages and disadvantages of such partnerships?

Question 3: Briefly examine the key steps of the tourism development process at the local authority level and the national level.

Question 4: How significant are interactive planning systems in the tourism development process?

Question 6: Examine issues of conflict of interest among the stakeholders. How would they get resolved?

Question 7: Sustainability also means achieving a balance. What would happen if they were not balanced in a destination? What is meant by the terms 'carrying capacity', and 'equilibrium' in regard to supply and demand?

Question 8: Enclave Tourism is practiced in Mauritius and other places. What are the moral and ethical issues of developing and promoting this type of tourism?

Question 9: Using all that you have discussed and read over the last few weeks as well as your research on the two destinations,

- Briefly examine the factors that could prevent or hinder sustainable tourism development in those destinations.

- Compare current issues associated with tourism development in the two countries.

Reflect on:

1) What sustainability in tourism development means to you. (A definition of 'Sustainable Tourism' is a good start.)

2) What is good about it? Why would it be a worthwhile pursuit?

3) The various stages involved in the planning of a sustainable tourism development project.

In your reflection, make recommendations of what could be done for the future development of tourism in each one of the two destinations (Indonesia and Mauritius).
