Who are the stakeholders

Assignment task:

You are the President of Ideas, a hugely successful marketing firm. The firm operates 24 hours each day with employees working different shifts. As a smaller company with less than 50 employees, you know most of your employees.  You find out that one of your employees was clocking in his wife who wasn't actually showing up until two hours later.  Records show that the employee has been doing this for the last month. You immediately fired the employee.

Afterwards, the employee came in with his father, who has worked for Ideas for two decades, and the two pleaded for another chance. The father has a great reputation, is highly regarded by management and colleagues, and has been a loyal employee since the start of the business.  In fact, all three employees are stellar!

The Employee explained that he has a newborn son and that his wife couldn't leave for work until he got home. He further noted that their son was born with a weakened immune system so he is unable to attend a childcare facility.  The employee noted that they are trying to find a babysitter to watch their child between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day.  This is proving very difficult.

The employee worked the first shift from 7 to 3 p.m. while his wife worked the 3 to 11 p.m. shift.  The employee would clock in his wife just before leaving himself. Both husband and wife have a one-hour commute.

The employee and his father beg for his job and a second chance.

What do you do? Why? Who are the stakeholders? What values guide your decision?
