Closely read the section "Weak Versus Strong Critical Thinking" in chapter 1. After completing this reading, read online articles in legitimate news outlets (New York Times, Washington Times, Wall Street Journal, NBC, ABC, PBS, etc.) or watch news coverage from competing news channels (Fox News vs. CNN or MSNBC).
While reading/viewing, look for situations where someone deliberately hides or distorts information in pursuing a goal. Explain how this individual goes about distorting the truth and why you think they are doing this. Does the person get away with this sophistry?
