Problem
Could a liberation ideology, which seeks to "liberate" as well as the "raise the consciousness" of an oppressed group, ever be "successful" in a liberal society (such as the United States), which values the notions of individual autonomy and personal liberty? Why or why not? How do the major aspects of each ideology (liberalism and liberation ideologies respectively) make them compatible or incompatible? (Use one of the following theorists in your analysis: MLK Jr., Malcolm X, John Corvino, Peter Singer).
