Which states that humans seek out things that cause pleasure

Discussion Post: Motivation & Performance

A major theme across many of the philosophical theories discussed in this chapter is hedonism, which states that humans (and animals) seek out things that cause pleasure and avoid things that cause pain. First, pick a recent decision or behavior that you made and identify how hedonism could be used to explain this behavior. Next, think of a time when you did something that contradicted hedonism (e.g., did something even though it was painful, avoided something even though it might be pleasurable). If hedonism isn't motivating this behavior, then what do you think is?

The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
