Problem
Edward and Beverly have been married for about 3 years. They are in their early thirties and both are working to build their careers. They recently upgraded from their starter home to one that requires them to watch their budget carefully, knowing that within 2-3 more years, they will both earn significantly more income. They enjoy going out with their friends on weekends, and Beverly keeps a close eye on how much they can afford to spend. Her frustration is with Edward's habit of picking up the check for everyone, which can double or even triple the cost of their nights out. She wants him to honor the budget, and Edward wants Beverly to understand that being generous will come back to them eventually.
