• Find a current event article in a REPUTABLE magazine or newspaper about capital punishment. Write a brief summary and discuss something that this article that relates to one of the readings or lectures from this unit. Include the article in your journal.
• There are 5 theories of retributive punishment. List all 5 and explain 2 of them. Which one do you think best explains why we should punish? Why? Illustrate it with an original example and discuss a counter example.
• We looked at punishment in relation to capital crimes. Let's apply these ideas to our current drug policies? What would you change? Why? What theory of punishment are you relying on?
