Where would his fractures most likely have occurred?

Problem

A 60-year old man falls from a roof and lands feet first on the ground below. He is in excruciating pain Emergency medical workers called to the scene tell him he has probably broken his hips. Where would his fractures most likely have occurred? (between the ilium and ischium; between the pubis and ischium; or at the neck of the femur). As an older adult he is more likely to have fractures than a child falling the same distance? Why?
