some of you may have learned something during this class. I would like for each of you to think back over the class and then share with us one new and important concept that you learned during this class. It could be something that peaked your interest, something you never heard of or did before, something you struggled with, etc.

The topic I found more interesting and educational was the process of setting up new software/a program for a business, As I mentioned before, I worked for a company that invested a lot of money and the project failed for many reasons. I feel that if I had the knowledge of the things covered in this course at that time, I may have been able to guide that project to make it more successful. Each step is crucial to implementing the plan and making it work as designed.

As an alternative topic, some of you may have learned something during this class. I would like for each of you to think back over the class and then share with us one new and important concept that you learned during this class. It could be something that peaked your interest, something you never heard of or did before, something you struggled with, etc.

I personally struggled with the case study on Kelly's Salon. I had a hard time grasping the concept of IT requirements. I kept getting scalability confused. I still don't fully understand it, but I think I understand it enough to know that the scalability of an IT program determines how well it grows with a company. This class was challenging, but I learned so much that I can apply to my future classes and career.

Find an article online about an IT issue that is ethics or project-management related, and also hopefully business related.
here is the article link, I have also attached it to this thread: https://www.technologyreview.com/s/526401/laws-and-ethics-cant-keep-pace-with-technology/

This article talks about how Businesses use social media to filter out individuals based on beliefs, looks, or even their friends behaviors and practices. All the while, employers can get into legal trouble if they ask interviewees about their religion, sexual preference, or political affiliation (Wadhwa, 2014). The gaps in technology and ethical privacy have grown exponentially because technology is so rapidly evolving the laws cannot keep up. A future ethical issue foreseen in this article is Genetic Information. Today, technology can read-out your genome from a few stray cells in less than a day (Wadhwa, 2014). This could potentially keep employers from hiring you because of genetic defects.

Questions I have following this article:

1. Where do we draw the line on what is ethical and what is legal when it comes to our privacy?

2. Should businesses be able to determine business outcomes based on social media?

3. How will it be possible to keep genetic information private, what laws will be passed?
