A great deal of Mergers and acquisitions activity was put on hold during the COVID pandemic which resulted in a substantial increase in activity during 2021 and this was expected to continue into 2022 and beyond. In the event, while the first quarter of 2022 saw M&As boom the rest of the year was much more subdued. However, M&As are expected to rebound.
