The comma: independent clauses, introductory elements
Add or delete a comma where necessary in the following sentences. If a sentence is correct, write correct next to it.
I. When we arrived at the convention, we saw immediately that we were overdressed for the occasion.
II. The man at the next table complained loudly and the waiter stomped off in disgust.
III. If you complete the enclosed card, and return it in two weeks, you will receive a free breakfast during your stay.
IV. Nursing is physically, and mentally demanding, yet the pay is low.
V. Marsha's baked goods disappeared as soon as she put them out for sale but she always kept one or two for herself.
