When should the fundraiser be held how much money is a

During the initial meeting of the fiscal year, the Women Warriors Recovery Council (WWRC) decided to organize a project to raise funds to help upgrade the outreach programs at the local VA hospital. The WWRC membership consists of 10 representatives from each of the military branches, for a total of 50 members. Fifteen members attended the meeting. Although the council members at the meeting became excited about the project, some concerns were identified: • What type of project would work best? • When should the fundraiser be held? • How much money is a reasonable goal? • Who should be responsible for which tasks? • How can we gain approval from WWRC members not present at the meeting? • Do we need a starting budget for initial expenses? • What approvals do we need, if any? The following conversation was held: Angelica said, "This is rather complex. We have lot of questions and not many answers." Sara added, "What if we don't reach our goal? It will be humiliating, especially if we put in a lot of effort and publicity." Jemma responded, "We may do a lot of work, but we have our WWRC members and their families." Tanisha said, "Maybe we could identify the risks involved, then make a better decision to go ahead or not?" Jennifer said, "I'm not going to stand on corners with a sign!" Amy-Sue added, "I won’t do that either, but there are other ways that we could raise the money, and it could be fun for everyone." "Maybe even get the VA hospital staff and community members to come, too. We could raise even more money than just from the WWRC families," added Jilian. Wendy spoke up, "I'm willing to sponsor a planning committee as the chair or co-chair. Who else wants to help with that? We'll meet here on Saturday at 9:00 am. I can send out an email to the rest of the WWRC members, letting them know about the fundraiser idea and that they are invited.” . Review the Case Study: Fundraising for WWRC, located in Additional Resources. Research different methods used to manage project budgets. Create an initial time-phased baseline budget for the WWRC project, based on realistic costs for one of the projects you suggested in the Case Study: Fundraising for WWRC Part I. Identify one other method for managing the budget of the project. Compare the two methods and identify which method you would use. Identify how you will accumulate actual costs of the project.
