When mate into bacillus subtilis


When mate into Bacillus subtilis (a naturally competent bacterium), a plasmid that carries an active transposon, but cannot replicate in this bacterium, you see transposition of the element to the chromosome of the bacterium. However, when you transform the DNA of this plasmid into Bacillus subtilis, you do not see any transposition. Why?
