When Elie and his family got to the concentration camp, Stein, a family relative found them. Stein was worried about his family and he asked Elie if his wife had written his mother. Elie’s mother has not heard from Stein’s wife but Elie told Stein that his mother has heard from her in order to reassure Stein that his wife is alive so Stein had something positive to live for.
