When anthropologists first studied people hundreds of years ago they noted that all people they studied were ethnocentric. Ethnocentrism is still major social problem we face in the United States as well as the world over.

Define ethnocentrism.
Explain how ethnocentrism can be both positive and negative for a culture and present ways that ethnocentrism can be combated or stopped.
Include any instances of ethnocentrism that you have witnessed in your life or recall a time when you made assumptions that were culturally biased.
