Assignment task:
Eddie is a quality control inspector for an automotive assembly line. His job is to inspect cars' bodies, interiors, and engines as they roll off the assembly line. Eddie's responsibility is to identify quality problems that either hinder these parts of the car or noticeably mar the car's appearance. He is to report the problem so that it can be corrected. Sometimes late in the day, especially on Thursdays and Fridays, Eddie lets assembly problems slip past him. In addition, Eddie's back feels sore at the end of the day, and sometimes he is very stiff in the morning. There are times when he is not sure whether he sees a serious problem or just a glitch.
Assignment:
After reading through the scenario above and the relevant information in Chapter 14, use the theories presented in the chapter to prepare a job redesign strategy for Eddie. Address two different options for him.

Prepare a four-paragraph discussion of the job redesign plan you would implement for Eddie. Your plan must address two separate models. Be sure to discuss the pros and cons of each. Indicate whether they will be used in conjunction with one another or separately. Please explain why you chose them and what the expected outcome will be. We are in week 8...I expect lots and lots of detail, references, and practical application. This is not a two-sentence assignment!

- Do you need any additional information before it begins to redesign Eddie's job? If so, what information do you need?
- What would you specifically recommend to redesign Eddie's job?
