Problem
Will (hypothetically) get involved with a foundation/organization/NGO (Non-government organization) and write speech with a plan to do some social work/civic engagement. How might you want to get involved with this group? What kind of program or project would benefit this foundation/organization?
You will be creating a media campaign artifact of your choice representing the NGO of your choice. this can be a great way to draw in your interests/expertise to this issue. You will be presenting an "artifact" as a representation of this hypothetical program. This can be a flyer, a pamphlet, a song playlist (with explanation of choices), t-shirt/merch logo design, blogs, commercials, a rally plan outline, a list of possible community donors/supporters (with explanation of choices)... and beyond. You can develop an "artifact" of your own devising, as well.
When you have created your artifact, consider how it would effectively work for your represented NGO. You will need to explain the rationale for your choices made for this artifact. This is where you will use the foundations and language of DISCOURSE. Link your ideas and your choices to a purposeful act of engaging in discourse. Be as specific as possible. I am looking for three pages of rationale. Please construct works cited page for your entire project to attach to the rationale paper.
This speech is laying the foundation for your final project. This type of speech has a less-formal content matter because it is asking you to discuss your organization, your impressions of this organization, why are you drawn to it, its value to your/our community, etc. This informality being recognized, you still need to demonstrate a proficient mastery of rhetoric and discourse. Be organized... well-researched.... well-practiced.

What kind of social impact would you expect?
You will need to provide verbal citations during your speech.

What foundation/organization/NGO did you choose?
Why did you choose it? What draws you to this organization?
How are you (hypothetically) planning to get involved in that specific organization? How is this involvement achievable for others?
What do you expect to accomplish from this kind of involvement?
Does this affect your community? What kind of community are you trying to impact? Why?
How does your artifact represent this NGO?
How does the artifact function effectively as a piece of rhetoric?
One scholarly source from secondary research and a popular one (Magazine, newspaper, TED Talk ) should be used and included as cited texts at the end of the video speech.
