•Apple's use of reverse razor-razorblade pricing on iTunes is a very interesting topic to explore. Discuss both the successes of the strategy as well as the potential risks. What would happen if a new technology was developed that surpassed the iPod. Would people be drawn away from the iPod or is the dominant market share that the iPod has insurmountable?

•To help understand the impact of customer lock in, have the students examine their intentions concerning their cell phone. Cell phone companies are very efficient at locking customers in. What are some of the variables that could lead to someone ignoring customer lock in?

•Assume that you are have just invented a new technology and don't have the required capital to bring the product to market. Explain the process you would follow (in detail) to enter into a contractual arrangement. What requirements would you be looking for in the firm you chose to produce and market your invention?

•Outsourcing has been increasing at an increasing rate. More and more companies are looking at outsourcing their technical support and services. First determine the two countries where most of the outsourcing has been going. Do you feel the trend will continue? In addition, what are the positive and negative aspects associated with outsourcing technical support and services?
