What would be the estimated oxygen cost for the exercise

Problem

Imagine an individual who is a 25-year-old female with a mass of 55kg and height of 1.7m. She has no history of disease, risk factors, nor signs or symptoms. She's normally active and plays several sports. She is going to run on a track at approximately 140m/min (~5.22mph). Because it is a track, assume the grade is 0% (flat).

i. What would be the estimated oxygen cost for this exercise (in ml/kg/min O2)

ii. If she decides to run at this pace for 25 minutes, how many calories will she burn (assume 5kcal/L O2)?

iii. If we assume this individual is fairly active (PA coefficient of 1.25), what would you estimate her daily Total Energy Expenditure would be (use the equation provided in class rather than the NIH BWP)?

iv. Do you think this individual needs to be trying to reduce her body mass? Why or why not?
