• Water: distance from original line to solvent front (cm) = 8 ; number of bands 1
• Acetone: distance from original line to solvent front (cm)= 5; number of bands 2
• Mineral Oil: distance from original line to solvent front (cm)= 4, number of bands 1
• Acetic Acid: distance from original line to solvent front (cm)= 9, number of bands 1
(each chromatography paper is cut into 4 equal pieces and a pencil draw line is made approximately 1 cm from across the bottom edge, a quarter was used to extract the pigment from the fresh spinach leaf against the pencil drawn line.)
